Cattle Yards
Not every farm is the same. But with 8 years building them we’ve found cattle yards fit within two camps: Commercial or Maxxus.

All Cattle Yards
The yard designs below are our core range. We will work alongside you to make tweaks/changes where required. It’s best to start with the design closest to your needs and customise from there.
Why Choose a
Onefarm Yard
Explore the key reasons to go for a Onefarm yard for your farm. Instead of trying to sell why we are better, read through some of the facts below and make your own decision.
Deep Rail Profile
When cattle are putting pressure on yards, it is lateral pressure. For this reason our cattle rail is 47mm deep compared to the more common 40-42mm depth.
Rattle Free
Our rattle free clamp system reduces annoying noise in the yard and ensures a tight hold between panels and gates compared with loose fitting pins and bolts that others use.
Overhead Bracing
We incorporate overhead bracing in all yard sections with junctions near 90 degrees, ensuring enhanced rigidity and strength. This bracing is crucial for preserving the structural integrity of the yard.
Hot Dipped Galvanising
All steel is Hot Dipped Galvanised after welding to NZAS standards keeping yards rust free for life.
10 Year Warranty on Galvanising
All Hot Dipped Galvanised Steel comes with a 10 year warranty.
Rail Bend Warranty
If any panels bend through sideways movement we’ll replace free of charge.
Safety
Safety is a core pillar in our yard designs. We use non-stock working areas and various access gate options meaning operators can work comfortably without getting into risky situations. Our yards use anti-bruise oval rails. This means no sharp points.
Efficiency
Our yards are designed to maximize stock flow. All designs are modular, providing flexibility of change whenever needed. We provide a complete consultation process before committing to any earthworks.
Reliability
In most cases, our steel is 15% stronger than what the other guys are selling. Onefarm yards are designed and tested here in New Zealand. For superior strength and longevity in the elements, our steel is hot dipped galvanised after welding.
Stress Free Stock Flow
Our yards use curved races and round forcing pens
Curved races are superior to straight ones because cattle instinctively tend to return in the direction they came from. Our designs encourage cattle to turn and move, resulting in an improved overall flow.
We calculate the right sizes for your specific needs
As part of the consultation process we'll get a good feel for your requirements within the yards. From there we can select one of our proven designs and make any necessary changes.
We use visual barriers in high intensity areas
Stock flow can get congested when the animals are seeing too much of the operator any any external distractions such as trucks outside the yards. With our visual barriers, cattle are more relaxed and move through the race and forcing pen faster.
Cattle must see somewhere to go or they're likely to hesitate
We make sure our designs have the right race curvature. Cattle must be able to see at least two cattle ahead, or else they won’t move smoothly through the race. This is why we avoid any sharp bends to ensure no ‘stock traps’ are created.
